AI Chat Exporter: Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the AI Chat Exporter: ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini browser extension published by LunarWerx LLC ("LunarWerx", "we", "us", "our"). It is separate from the LunarWerx website Privacy Policy and governs the extension, which does none of the website's data collection. Last updated: October 7, 2026.
The short version (plain English): AI Chat Exporter runs entirely in your browser to turn the AI chat you're looking at into a file you download. There are no accounts. Your conversations never reach us, the only network requests the extension makes are to the AI site you're already signed in to (ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini), to read your own chats so it can export them. Everything is processed on your device and the file lands on your device.
1. The part that matters most
Most data tools quietly collect and transmit information about you. AI Chat Exporter is built so that it cannot. It has no backend of its own, there is no LunarWerx server for your data to be sent to, because none exists. The extension reads the conversation you choose to export, converts it to your chosen format, and triggers a normal browser download. That's the whole pipeline, and it happens locally.
2. Who and what this policy covers
This policy covers the AI Chat Exporter browser extension. It is separate from the LunarWerx marketing website (lunarwerx.com), which has its own privacy policy covering things like website analytics. Those website practices do not apply to the extension, the extension does none of them.
3. What stays private
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your conversations.
- We do not run any remote or externally-hosted code; every library the extension uses is bundled inside the package and runs locally.
4. What the extension accesses, and why
To create an export, the extension needs to read the conversation you are viewing. It is granted access only to the AI chat sites it supports, and uses that access for one purpose: turning your chats into downloadable files.
- It runs only on chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, claude.ai, and gemini.google.com. It has no access to any other website.
- On the page, it adds a Download button and reads the text of the conversation you choose to export.
- The conversation is converted, entirely in your browser, into the format you pick (PDF, Markdown, plain text, or image) and downloaded to your computer.
5. Full-history export (ChatGPT and Claude)
If you choose "export all" on ChatGPT or Claude, the extension requests your conversation list and contents from those sites' own interfaces, using the login session already present in your browser, the same way the site itself loads your chats. This data is read straight into the export and the resulting file; it is never routed through, or stored on, any LunarWerx system, because there is none. On Gemini, the extension reads the conversation directly from the page you have open.
6. What's stored, and where files go
The extension keeps no database of your conversations. The only output is the file you asked for, saved to your device by your browser's normal download mechanism. What you do with that file afterwards is entirely up to you. Uninstalling the extension removes it completely; it leaves no remote data behind because it never created any.

The extension requests no other permissions, no broad browsing access, no storage of your data on our side, and no network destinations other than the AI sites you are already using.
8. Children
AI Chat Exporter is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed to children.
9. Your privacy rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give people rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about them. There is nothing stored on a server for us to retrieve, export, correct, or delete. The only data involved is your own conversations on your own device, fully under your control. You will never receive marketing from us through the extension, because we have no way to contact you through it.
10. Security
The strongest protection for your data is that it never leaves your device. With no servers, no accounts, there is no central store to breach and nothing of yours in transit to intercept.
