Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how LunarWerx LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("LunarWerx", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information. Last updated: October 7, 2026. It applies to our marketing website at https://lunarwerx.com and to the LunarWerx products and applications that incorporate or link to this policy. LunarWerx is a remote-first digital studio operated by LunarWerx LLC, a Missouri limited liability company. We build and operate our own products and apps; we do not provide client services.
1. Introduction & Scope
This Privacy Policy covers personal information we process about visitors to our website and users of LunarWerx products and applications that reference these company-level terms (for example, the mobile app "Side Quest," published by LunarWerx). Some LunarWerx products may publish supplemental or product-specific privacy notices; where they do, those notices apply alongside this policy for that product. Current product notices: SideQuest Privacy Policy and AI Chat Exporter Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our website, products, or services.
This policy works together with our Terms of Service. For more detail on any practice described below, you can contact us at contact@lunarwerx.com.
2. Information We Collect
(a) Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you choose to give us directly, including:
- Email alert subscriptions: When you subscribe to the Codex Forecast alerts at codex.lunarwerx.com, we collect your email address and store the time you subscribed and the time you confirmed. Subscription is double opt-in: we send nothing but a single confirmation message until you click the link in it. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address for up to 24 hours, purely to rate-limit the sign-up form against abuse; the hash cannot be reversed to your IP. Your address is used to send those alerts and, occasionally, news about LunarWerx products, and is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Every alert carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. To have your address deleted entirely rather than marked unsubscribed, email contact@lunarwerx.com.
- Other communications: If you email us or otherwise communicate with us, we collect the information you include in those communications.
(b) Information Collected Automatically
When you use our website, certain information is collected automatically by our infrastructure and analytics technologies.
Server and edge logs. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes standard server and edge log data, which may include your IP address, user agent / browser type, requested URLs, timestamps, and similar technical request data. This information is used to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site.
Product analytics (where our analytics pixel is enabled). On sites and products where the Connections analytics pixel is enabled, we collect:
- Pages viewed and navigation paths (page URL and path), and referrer / UTM campaign source.
- Interaction events, including clicks, outbound-link clicks, scroll depth, and "rage clicks".
- Device and environment details, including device type (desktop, mobile, or tablet), browser, and operating system.
- IP address, used to derive approximate geographic location and, via reverse-IP company identification (a business-to-business feature), to identify a visitor's likely employer or organization.
- Session replay: recordings or reconstructions of on-page interactions.
- JavaScript errors and browser console logs, used for diagnostics.
- An anonymous visitor ID and a session ID, stored via cookies and/or browser local storage.
- If you identify yourself to one of our products, an email address or user ID may be associated with your analytics record.
(c) Cookies & Local Storage
We and our analytics technology use cookies and browser local storage to store identifiers such as an anonymous visitor ID and a session ID, and to remember your interactions across pages. See the Cookies & Tracking Technologies section below for how to control these technologies.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, maintain, and secure our website, products, and infrastructure, including preventing fraud and abuse.
- Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you, including replying to messages you send us.
- Understand usage and improve our products through analytics, including diagnosing errors and enhancing user experience.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms, protect our rights, and respond to lawful requests.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA / UK)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent: for example, where required for certain analytics, cookies, or session recording.
- Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, and improve our website and products, to understand usage, and to respond to inquiries, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Performance of a contract: to provide products or services you have requested.
- Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described below.
Service Providers and Sub-Processors
We rely on trusted third parties to operate our website and products. These include:
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting, content delivery network (CDN), Cloudflare Workers, and edge security and logging.
- Resend: transactional email delivery. If you subscribe to the Codex Forecast alerts, our email delivery provider processes your email address in order to deliver the confirmation message and the emails themselves.
- Connections (analytics.connectionsapi.com): LunarWerx's first-party product analytics, used where the analytics pixel is enabled (see the Analytics & Session Recording section).
For paid LunarWerx products and apps, additional processors may apply, including Stripe (payment processing) and Amazon Web Services (cloud infrastructure). These do not apply to the marketing website.
Legal and Safety
We may disclose information where we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of LunarWerx, our users, or others.
Business Transfers
If LunarWerx is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and browser local storage to operate the site, remember your session, and support analytics. These technologies store identifiers such as an anonymous visitor ID and a session ID. You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them, although some features may not function properly without them.
We honor recognized opt-out signals. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under applicable law, and we stop using your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Do Not Track (DNT). Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is no common industry or legal standard for how sites must respond to it, and we do not respond to DNT signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal described above, which is a recognized opt-out mechanism under applicable law. You can also decline analytics through our consent banner where it is shown, and you can control cookies through your browser settings at any time.
7. Analytics & Session Recording
Where the Connections analytics pixel is enabled on our sites and products, we use it to understand how visitors interact with our pages so we can improve our products. As described in the Information We Collect section, this includes pages viewed and navigation paths, referrer and UTM source, interaction events (clicks, outbound-link clicks, scroll depth, and rage clicks), device and environment details, JavaScript errors and console logs, and an anonymous visitor ID and session ID.
This analytics also includes session replay: recordings or reconstructions of on-page interactions, and uses your IP address to derive approximate location and to perform reverse-IP company identification, which infers a visitor's likely employer or organization. If you identify yourself to one of our products, an email address or user ID may be associated with your analytics record. You can limit this collection using the cookie and tracking controls described in the Cookies & Tracking Technologies section, including the GPC signal.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to provide and improve our products and services, to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the context in which it was collected. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit who can access data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any credentials associated with LunarWerx products confidential.
